BC Talks

About BC Talks:

The goals of BC Talks are to showcase the public speaking capabilities or spoken expressions of our student body; offer an opportunity for proficient speakers to gain experience; educate students on the fundamentals of public speaking by observing proficient speakers; and promote College Read’s books.

Currently, BC Talks coordinates college-wide speech showcases and annual speech competitions. In order to participate, a student must be enrolled as a current part-time or full-time.

The college-wide speech competition derived from College Read’s partnership with the Literary Festival. Each year’s theme will focus on the current College Read’s book. BC Literary Festival, which usually take place during the 2nd week of April, is an event presented in conjunction with National Library Week. The week is a national observance each April sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians, as well as promote library use and support.
