What is transferring?

Students who seek to continue their studies after graduating from Broward College with an associate degree may transfer to a four-year institution. Many Associate of Science students complete their degree and seek employment. However, some Associate of Science students seek to continue their studies by transferring. Associate of Arts students usually choose to transfer or choose to remain at Broward College to continue in one of our Bachelor programs.

What is an articulation agreement?

An articulation agreement is an agreement between Broward College and a partner institution that outlines the admission requirements. Articulation agreements that include programs (majors) will include required courses for students while attending Broward College and the courses needed when students transfer to partner institutions

Articulation agreements to Broward College are agreements that outline the admissions requirements for incoming students that are seeking to transfer into Broward College to earn an Associate or Bachelor degree.

Associate of Science is an undergraduate degree awarded after successfully completing a prescribed program of study, which leads to employment or to an institution to complete a bachelor's degree.

Associate of Arts is an undergraduate degree awarded after successfully completing a prescribed course of study, usually general education courses and lower level program of study courses. This degree is usually a transfer degree to complete a bachelor's degree.

Bachelor (Baccalaureate) is an undergraduate degree awarded after the completion of a prescribed number of credit hours, including credits earned in an associate degree (usually 120 semester hours or more; "four-year" degree).
