Seahawk Print (Pay-For-Print)

Broward College provides multi-function devices at each location as a service to students, faculty, and staff.  These devices can be used for printing, copying, and scanning to support learning.  A nominal fee is charged for printing and copying – scanning to e-mail services are free of charge.  The fee is under the rates of commercially available copy centers.  Students can purchase Prepaid Print cards from vending machines (cash only) in the amounts of $2 or $5. Prepaid Print cards are also available for sale using credit/debit cards at the North, Central, and South Campus Bookstores.

Black & White:
Letter - $0.10
Legal - $0.14

Color:
Letter - $0.30
Legal - $0.40

Duplex or 2 sided prints are treated as two images at the above rates. Example: 2 sided color would cost $0.60 total.

PRINTING AND SCANNING INSTRUCTIONS

Instructions to Print from a Broward College Lab Computer

  1. Select File, Click Print and select the applicable printer. You can select the printer by selecting the dropdown arrow under printer. You will have the choice to select “Pay_with_Prepaid_Print_Card_BW” on papercut.bc.edu for Black & White or “Pay_with_Prepaid_Print_Card_Color on papercut.bc.edu” for color. Then select Print.
  2. You will be prompted to enter the number located on the back of your prepaid card. Once you enter the code, select OK. Please proceed to self-serve print station and follow the next steps.
  3. Tap cards at the station’s card reader, located on the right side of the machine.
  4. A screen will appear with your print jobs. Select your print job and click the Print All button located at the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
  5. After your print job has completed, be sure to press the login/logout button located on the right-hand side.

  1. Press on the “Scanner” button on the left.
  2. Click on “Manual Entry” option located in the middle of the screen and enter the email address you want the scan to go to.
  3. Select the Start button located at the bottom of the number pad to send the file.

Using Prepaid Cards:

To make Copies:

  1. Tap cards at the station’s card reader, located on the right side of the machine.
  2. A screen will appear stating that there are no print jobs awaiting release. Select the “Use Device Functions” option located in the middle of the screen.
  3. A screen will appear with the balance remaining on your card. Select the “OK” option located in the right hand corner of the screen.
  4. The Copy Screen will appear, select your settings. Press “Start” when ready to begin copying.
  5. After your print job has completed, be sure to press the login/logout button located on the right-hand side.

  1. Press the “Home” button located on the top left side of the device, then tap on “XMediusFAX” icon located on the screen.
  2. Fill in the all the information for sending fax, such as Name, Company, Fax Number, Subject.
  3. Select the Scan button on the bottom right corner of the screen.

  2. A screen will appear stating that there are no print jobs awaiting release. Select the “Use Device Functions” option located in the middle of the screen.
  3. A screen will appear with the balance remaining on your card.
  4. After you reviewed your balance, be sure to press the login/logout button located on the right-hand side.
  5. In the event you do not have available funds on your prepaid card, the following message will appear.
    • You do not have enough credits available to release all the print jobs.

Used prepaid print cards can properly be disposed of in the Recycle Boxes located in the Central Campus Library 1st Floor and 2nd Floor ASC Lab, North Campus ASC Lab Library, and South Lab Room 182.
