Welcome to the Science Lab. Our role is to support student learning to ensure academic success. Students can strengthen their understanding of course concepts through one-on-one or group tutoring sessions. Tutors will model study strategies, explain challenging topics, and demonstrate problem solving. Assistance can be obtained by appointment or walk-in during our operating hours.

The Science Lab houses ten Olympus CX31 microscopes, prepared slides, and a large number of anatomical models. Students can utilize these resources to learn laboratory concepts and develop necessary laboratory skills. There are fourteen computer stations plus two collaborative stations for group work. Students may check out textbooks or lab manuals for use in the lab with their BC identification.

The Science Lab works in partnership with the Science Department and faculty to plan reviews that support student and course progression. For example, the review sessions will begin with foundational skills, followed by weekly review, and then exam prep and finals prep. We offer support for anatomy and physiology, biology, microbiology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science courses.

Specific laboratory reviews for biology, microbiology, and anatomy and physiology are listed below:

  • Biology I and II: Lab Topic Review sessions for midterm and final lab exams.
  • Microbiology: Lab Topic Review sessions and Mock Practicums for midterm and final lab exams.
  • Anatomy and Physiology: System Reviews, Open Lab sessions, and mock practicums for midterm and final lab exams. These reviews begin two weeks prior to the exam dates and are held in the Science building, (66/216).
