Seville is one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Located alongside the Guadalquivir River, the city boasts a rich blend of Christian, Moorish, and Jewish traditions, as evidenced in its beautiful architectures and monuments. " There are only so many words that I can say or think of when I reflect back on my study abroad journey in Seville, Spain. Seville is a city unlike any other, it has given me the time of my life, a group of friends I will cherish forever, and memories that will never fade. I never lacked home while I was in Seville because what I found was home. Home is where your heart is and my heart will forever be with Seville. I was able to meet people from all around the world who challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, attend flamenco shows, bullfights, and embrace myself in the world that lies before me. I recall everyday waking up to my amazing host family with my abuela saying "hija vamos a comer!" It is little things like this that I will treasure forever and cannot wait to return to Seville once again. As the motto goes "No me ha dejado, Sevilla."- Ayla Yildiz, Monmouth University
" Studying abroad in Seville, Spain was one of the best decision I've ever made. It opened my eyes to a world outside of my own. Over a period of 5 weeks, I learned the Spanish language and embraced the culture. I lived with an authentic Spanish family who took me in as one of their own. During the week days we attended the International College of Seville, where the teachers and administration were welcoming and knowledgeable. As a class we took trip to many historical locations and tourist attractions such as The City of Italica, the cathedral, a live bull fight, the Palace of Alcazar, a flamenco show, the beach, and many more. We also lived in the heart of the city, so every day we could walk downtown and be submerged in the Spanish lifestyle. Never in my life have I ever been surrounded by so much beauty in history in one small city. Another highlight of my stay was taking a weekend road and ferry trip to Morocco, Africa, where we shopped in the city, visited tourist attractions, and rode camels along the Mediterranean Sea. I am so grateful for this wonderful experience; and I would encourage anybody who is brave enough to study abroad with CCIS." - RyeNeysa Gregory, Norfolk State University
" My summer in Seville was one of the best experiences of my life. I was able to immerse myself in a completely different culture. I experienced so many amazing things from bullfights, Flamenco shows, seeing places that are hundreds if not thousands of years old, and eating a lot of helado! My favorite parts about the entire experience were going to the classes. My professors were amazing and I truly learned so much. My housemother, Carmen, was so kind and an unbelievable cook! My time in Spain not only taught me about Spanish people, culture, and history, it taught me a lot about myself and the world around me. I hope that this was the first of many chances I have to travel the world! My advice to other students who are thinking about studying abroad would be to just do it! In college studying abroad is one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to travel the world. If you don't want to or are unable to spend a whole semester abroad, do as I did and spend part of your summer abroad. It will be one of the best decisions of your life!" - DyNishia Miller, University of Indianapolis
" Seville in one word to me is 'Home'. It is warm, inviting, comfortable and friendly. A place you can grow, meet friends for a lifetime and experience things you never thought possible. I do not regret a day that I spent in Spain and now all I keep wishing for is only one more day!" - Kayla Carpenter, Westfield State University
" "Take advantage of every minute, the time goes fast. Be open-minded, because you will face different cultures and every single of them is unique. Appreciate every detail and be grateful; it is a wonderful experience that will change your view of life and it will inspire you to explore the world around us." - Andreina Sojo, Broward College
