Study Abroad in Lima and Cusco, Peru!

Cusco is located in southeastern Peru, near the Urubamba Valley of the Andes mountain range. It was the site of the historic capital of the Inca Empire and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983 by UNESCO. It is a major tourist destination, receiving almost two million visitors a year, and has a population of approximately 500,000 people.

Cusco is the gateway city to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu, which is an amazing stone settlement in the Peruvian Andes, and the most important and beautiful legacy of the ancient Peruvians. During their time in Cusco, studentsc can have the opportunity to visit Machu Picchu.

Student Stories

chris-lena-peru"I had an amazing time studying abroad in Cusco, Peru. The people I met and the places I went were unforgettable. My advice for any students thinking about coming to Cusco is to do it! The city is very safe, and tourist friendly. The people are all very nice and helpful. The housing is really nice, and the breakfast is delicious. Looking back on my experience in Peru, I regret nothing! I made incredible friends and met people from all over the world. I would advise doing a trek to Machu Picchu, not necessarily the Inca Jungle trail, because that is not for everyone, but some sort of trek. It made the entire experience so much more rewarding and powerful." - Chris Lena, Bunker Hill Community College
